Dr. Danielle Williams

Dr. Danielle Williams has worked in the field of child sexual abuse for over 25 years. She is a licensed mental health counselor in Massachusetts and a licensed professional

counselor in Connecticut. Currently Dr. Williams serves the training and forensic interviewer supervisor and forensic interviewer at the Klingberg Child Advocacy Center in Hartford and forensic interviewer at the Center for Youth and Families in Torrington. She began conducting interviews in 2006.

Dr. Williams holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, a master’s in counseling psychology, and a PhD in leadership, with a research focus on sexual abuse and trauma. She has also completed her doctoral coursework in clinical psychology and is current ABD. Throughout her career, Dr. Williams has interviewed thousands of children and testifies in court as both a fact and expert witness. Her expertise includes forensic interviewing, grooming, dynamics of sexual abuse, child development and trauma. She is a faculty member for the Governor’s Task Force for Justice for Abused Children, and Finding Words where she teaches several sections of the ChildFirst protocol and facilitates the student actor training module. Dr. Williams also trains law enforcement, state’s attorney’s, DCF, and other professionals, and has presented at national child abuse conferences. In addition, she teaches graduate and doctoral courses in psychology at National University, and undergraduate criminal justice and psychology courses at New England College.
