Doug Edwards
Founder & Director, Real Dads Forever
Doug Edwards is a family services consultant who has developed and facilitated programs for family service workers and parents for more than 30 years. He is a founding member of Connecticut’s Fatherhood Initiative Advisory Council.
Doug is the Founder/Director of Real Dads Forever, focusing on Fatherhood Strategies Development. He serves on the advisory boards of Prevent Child Abuse America of CT and the CT Maternal Child Health Coalition. Additionally, he is a board member of the CT Association for Infant Mental Health and of Integrated Health Services.
An author and creator of training curricula, he developed the Paternal Prenatal Early Attachment Program (PPEAP), which strengthens fathers’ support for mothers and children. He’s published articles with researchers at UConn on PPEAP and with researchers at Yale University on “Black Fathers’ Views on Breastfeeding”. Additionally, he has published an online training curriculum titled “Engaging Fathers” with Eastern CT State University.
A family man, father, and grandfather, he continues to develop and lead workshops, train staff, and motivate families to prepare their children for success.
