Chris Kolcharno
Deputy Chief County Detective
Chris Kolcharno has been a sworn police officer since 1988. Hired by the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office in June of 2001, he has been a member of The Special Victim’s Unit since that time. Chris was promoted to Deputy Chief of Detectives in June of 2023. He is a member of the Pennsylvania State Police Northeast Computer Crime Task Force and the Pennsylvania ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Task Force. Detective Kolcharno was a Task Force Officer for the FBI at the Scranton Resident Agency, working violent crimes against children. Chris is certified to conduct wiretap investigations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Chris is currently a member of the hostage negotiation team for Lackawanna County SWAT, Chris is an adjunct instructor for the National Criminal Justice Training Center, NCJTC.
