Dawn Cook
Prevention Coordinator for the Connecticut Children’s Alliance (CCA)
Dawn Cook is the Prevention Coordinator for the Connecticut Children’s Alliance (CCA), a statewide coalition of Child Advocacy Centers (CACs), multidisciplinary teams, and partners working to prevent and respond to child abuse and exploitation. A certified Master Trainer on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and an Alliance Certified Trainer in the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework, she partners with service providers, communities, and parents to expand awareness, education, and resources to build resilience and increase the health and well-being of children and families.
Dawn’s career began as head teacher and then director of the Time Out for Parents program, a comprehensive child abuse prevention program providing therapeutic childcare and case management services. She also brings extensive experience in early childhood programming, elementary and special education. Beyond her professional work, Dawn is an artist, musician, and activist passionate about racial and social justice, the environment, and animal welfare.
